Five Healthy Habits To A Happier You

Five Healthy Habits To A Happier You

The greatest challenge that  many working moms struggle with is maintaining good energy levels to be able to successfully tackle their daily tasks. It can be very hard to stay positive if you are feeling exhausted and dragging yourself through the day. Don’t despair because there are habits that you can practice to increase your energy levels which will leave you feeling happier and more positive about your day.

The trick with anything new is to do it repeatedly so that it becomes  a part of you until you don’t need motivation to keep doing it. Don’t fall in the trap of starting out and giving up half way through because you will never get to see the benefit of the positive changes you are introducing to your life and daily routine.

There are five habits that you can introduce to your daily routine to help you feel more energized and ultimately happier.

Wake up early

You’ve probably heard it before on my previous blog posts and it’s because of the benefits that it has on your wellbeing. Waking up earlier gives you a head start to the day. It allows you plan out your day in calm way that eliminates the stress and anxiety that comes with rushing through your morning. It is also a good time to work on any new ideas you might have while your mind is clear and you are well rested.

Stay hydrated

We all know that our bodies are mainly water and we need to stay hydrated to maintain good health. There are so many benefits of staying hydrated and to name a few, it helps cleanse our bodies and gives the skin that glow we all want. Make it a habit to start your day with a glass of water and you can infuse it with fruit  to make it palatable.

Exercise

Exercise not only boosts energy but it also improves your mood. If you don’t have time to go to the gym, there are many resources you can use get moving at home. You can also get the little ones to join in and make it a fun activity to enjoy together.

Ditch the negative self-talk

Refuse to spend time building negative scenarios in your mind. It will only drain your energy and leave you feeling miserable. It’s all about how we choose to react to our circumstances and not necessarily what we go through in life.  Choose to positively affirm yourself daily and meditate on positive thoughts. Wake up with an expectation that something good will happen in your life.

Get organised

Make time to declutter your home. Go through your storage spaces and get rid of stuff you no longer need. I’ve always found decluttering my home to positively benefit me by giving me a clear mind and leaving me feeling like I have removed a load off my shoulders. An organised home is great place to help you unwind after a hectic day at work.

Simple changes and new habits to your daily routine are great energy and mood boosters. All that is required is to take that bold first step and before you know it , you will be in the habit of doing little things that positively benefit your entire wellbeing.
