How To Make Your Weekday Mornings Less Stressful

How To Make Your Weekday Mornings Less Stressful

If you managed  get time off work during the festive season, lucky you. It’s now the start of the new year and most people have returned to work. Starting work is one thing but for us mommies , another task we had taken a break from is about to resume. Yes, you guessed right…. It’s almost back to school time.

Balancing work and family is challenging enough and if you add early mornings of prepping the kids for school, it can leave any mom feeling frazzled. There are a few thing you can do to make your mornings a little easier.

Prepare the night before

Ok mamas ,this is one rule I live by or else my mornings can be really chaotic, which then stresses my kids and our day just doesn’t start out so well. Once I’ve put my kids to bed , I take time to plan and layout my outfit and that of my son for the next day. This eliminates the confusion and delay of deciding which outfit to wear in the morning.

Prepping the  night before also includes lunchboxes for both my son and I. I find it easier to eat healthy meals if I prepare it at home rather than grabbing something at work. This reduces the  chances of me eating just anything that might not be nutritious.

Wake up earlier than your kids

Being earlier than everyone else gives me time to pray and this sets the tone for my day. I need some quiet time to myself to fuel my soul before I can start taking care of everyone else. If time allows me , I get some exercise done with the help of a fitness app. By the time I get my son out of bed, I’ve finished preparing myself for work.

Have a checklist

A simple checklist of things I need to do or pack really does make my mornings a little easier. There are items that will be on my list daily and some that feature once in a while like my son’s art project.

Days are different and sometimes I don’t get it right , the kids are fussy or I’m too tired to do anything. This is ok and what matters most is that we try again the next day. It’s all about living in the moment and enjoying this journey of motherhood and all that comes along with it.

Love,
