The Woman I’m Becoming
It’s my birthday week and as I do on any special day , I take some time to reflect on my personal journey. I take into account every aspect that makes me who I am and not only motherhood.
This year was a little different in that I took time to dig really deep within and I realized that above everything else, I just want to be who God has predestined me to be. I believe that by fully surrendering to God’s purpose for my life and only His, I’ll be the best version of myself. This will in turn reflect on the kind of mom, wife and friend I am to but name a few.
The journey of motherhood brings along with it a lot challenges and navigating this season of life is truly unique to each individual. One thing I have observed is that it’s easy to put yourself last as a mom but I think it’s the time where one needs the most support and care along with all the necessary resources to help you remain true to yourself.
As I took time to introspect, I thought of Proverbs 31 and have drawn the key characteristics and areas I wish to be my foundation as I continue to learn and grow to be the woman I believe God wants me to be. It’s not only meant for me but I believe other women will benefit from these points.
- She works with eager hands
If you desire to achieve anything life, you have to be willing to put in the time and effort towards it. It’s easy to have dreams and write plans down but it can only be a reality through dedication and hard work. Being a mom is not a limitation or a hinderance to pursuing your dreams. Having realised this , I have done a lot of things I thought were beyond my reach. I am so eager to continue to spread my wings and fly in the direction of my dreams.
- She gets up while it’s still night
It takes commitment and some getting used to but waking up early means you have some time to yourself before starting the day. I use this time to read , journal and pray and I feel more equipped for the day after having this quiet time. It’s important to keep filling your cup so you don’t run dry. Its my desire to invest even more time to meditate on God’s Word , seek His guidance and most importantly , listen to His voice.
- She considers a field and buys it
Take time before making life altering decisions or any decision for that matter. In today’s digital world there’s a lot of outside influences on our lives but it takes true character to stay grounded and true to who you are.
- Out of her earnings she plants a vineyard
I founded Young Woman Arise in 2018 with the desire to see more women empowered not only in education, but financially as well. It’s important to continuously get educated about your finances and to be a good custodian of what God has blessed you with. To have the future you desire for yourself and your kids , you ought to have a solid plan and work towards it.
- She opens her arms to the poor
We ought to be the hands and feet of Christ on the earth. Wherever you see a need , if you can , reach out and bless others. We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
- She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come
It is in the face of adversity that our strengths and characters are molded. Challenges should be seen as opportunities for growth and not something to deter you from continuing to purposefully move forward. We should look ahead into the future with confidence in the One who hold it.
As the purpose of this blog states, I wish to nurture myself by aligning with God’s purpose for my life and to thrive.
I wish to live in the moment, taking and enjoying each day as it comes.
Love,
Muhluri
