Tips For Making A Fresh Start 

I’m happy to be seeing the newness of life all around that comes with spring. It’s refreshing and  beyond that, it got me thinking  about the beauty of making a fresh start. By fresh start I don’t mean packing up and starting over in a new town but I’m talking about you as a person.

Here are a few things you can do to make a fresh start:

Revisit your goals 

We all get excited at the thought of starting or pursuing something new but often fail to continue till the end. What have you started but left hanging when the excitement was gone? Revisit that and find ways to fulfil it. Remember to be  graceful to yourself and have the attitude that every step taken, no matter how small, is taking you closer to your goals.

Prioritise yourself

Are you that person who is always taking care of everyone else’s needs except your own? Make time to spend alone and use this time to reevaluate what it is that really matters to you and whether your daily actions are aligned to those values. Choose yourself once more by taking care of your emotional and physical well-being to experience a rejuvenated version of yourself.

Refresh your living space 

I believe all of us love an uncluttered space. It’s  pleasant to live in  and it helps to clear your mind. You can start by decluttering your closet and getting your home organized. Adding some  fresh flowers or a new deco item  is another  way to liven up your living space.

Write it down 

Create quiet time in your day to reflect and write down your thoughts and what you are grateful for. This is a way of caring for your soul and it’s in stillness that you can think about what it is you truly desire for yourself without distractions.

Choose positive thoughts 

Proverbs 23:7 says that as a man thinketh in his heart , so he is. This shows us how powerful our thoughts are. As much as you might be tempted to focus on the negative, make a choice to think and speak positively. We cannot choose what we go through but we can choose how we react to it.

Practice healthy habits 

Eating healthy and staying active takes a lot of commitment. If you have fallen off the wagon, now is the best time to try again. Take it one day at a time by making small changes. Over time, you will look back and be happy you started.

Any day is a great day for a fresh start. No matter where you are in life , you can make the choice to direct  your thoughts and actions towards a better version of yourself.
